MTN Foundation Launches 2025 Scholarship Program for Nigerian Undergraduates

The MTN Foundation has officially opened applications for its 2025 Scholarship Program, aiming to support high-achieving Nigerian undergraduates across public tertiary institutions. This initiative underscores MTN’s commitment to fostering educational development and empowering the nation’s youth.


Scholarship Categories and Benefits


The program comprises three distinct categories:

1. MTN Science and Technology Scholarship (STS): Targeted at 300-level students pursuing Science and Technology-related courses, this scholarship awards ₦300,000 annually until graduation, provided recipients maintain the required academic standards. 

2. MTN Scholarship for Blind Students (SBS): Designed for 200 and 300-level visually impaired students across all disciplines, this scholarship also provides ₦300,000 annually until graduation, contingent upon satisfactory academic performance. Notably, the number of beneficiaries for this category has increased from 60 to 100, reflecting MTN’s dedication to inclusivity. 

3. Top 10 UTME Scholarship: This category recognizes the top 10 candidates in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), irrespective of their chosen course or institution. Each recipient is granted ₦300,000 annually throughout their academic journey. 

Eligibility Criteria


To qualify for the MTN Science and Technology Scholarship, applicants must:

• Be 300-level students in Science and Technology disciplines at Nigerian public universities, polytechnics, or colleges of education.

• Maintain a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.5 on a 5-point scale or its equivalent.


For the Scholarship for Blind Students, eligibility extends to:

• 200 and 300-level visually impaired students enrolled in any course at public tertiary institutions.

• Blind students studying Law must be in their 300 level to apply.


Application Process


Interested candidates should apply through the official MTN Foundation Scholarship Portal. The application process involves creating an account, completing the online form, and uploading necessary documents, including admission letters and academic transcripts. 


Application Deadline


The deadline for submitting applications is July 18, 2025. Prospective applicants are encouraged to ensure timely and accurate submissions to avoid disqualification.

Google late Friday countered a US call to sell its Chrome browser, suggesting a judge address antitrust concerns by barring the firm from making favourable treatment of its software a condition of licensing. Google filed a 12-page proposed order banning the internet giant from requiring favourable distribution or treatment of its software on mobile devices as a condition of licensing popular apps like Chrome, Play or Gemini.
